Amal Clooney is representing Nadia Murad, of the Yazidis sect in Iraq, after ISIS killed her mother and forced her to be a sex slave for many of its leaders.
I don't think anyone can feel that they're being courageous compared to what Nadia is doing," she said. "You know, It's no joke. This is ISIS. They have sent her very specific threats, saying we will get you back. We'll do everything to do. "She made me make the decision because I met her and I just thought, I can't walk away from this."
Nadia Murad was a young Yazidi woman in Iraq when ISIS rounded up 6700 of her fellow villagers, killing many, including her mother and brother. She became a sex slave for numerous ISIS men, was thoroughly degraded and harmed. I am not clear how she got away. But she did. She is the face of heroism to her people and Amal Clooney is steadfastly by her side. Both continue to be threatened by ISIS.
Nadia was named a UN Goodwill Embassador and nominated by the Iraqi government for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Her entire mission now is “hope”.

This is yet another example of the strength, determination, fortitude and guts we women bring to the table. Misogyny be damned. These women are so much braver than the hairy yam running for president.
I hope Secretary Clinton has an opportunity to meet Nadia. Two peas in a pod!
